Important Guidelines Before Your Appointment
To ensure a smooth and efficient notarization process, please review the following:
- Valid Government-Issued ID A valid photo ID (such as a Passport or Driver’s License) is required to verify your identity.
- Do Not Sign Documents in Advance The Notary Public must witness your signature. Documents signed beforehand may not be accepted.
- Signer Must Be Present The person signing the document must attend the appointment in person. Notarization cannot be completed on behalf of someone else.
- Certified Copies If you require certified copies, please bring the original document. We provide free copying and printing.

How much does a notary cost in Scarborough?
Notarization is $20 for the first document, $15 each for two to five, and $10 each beyond five. Affidavits, powers of attorney and invitation letters are $70; apostille service is $100. Fees are charged per notarization signature, not per page, and we accept cash and e-Transfer.
Is there a notary open on weekends near me?
Yes. We are open seven days a week at 1225 Kennedy Road in Scarborough — Mon to Fri 10:00 am to 6:30 pm, and Sat and Sun 12:00 pm to 4:00 pm. Weekend availability is why many clients travel to us from across the GTA.
Do I need an appointment, or can I walk in?
Both work. Walk-ins are welcome during opening hours. Calling 416-951-3301 or booking online first means we can confirm what to bring and have everything ready, so you are in and out in minutes.
What do I need to bring to a notary?
Valid government-issued photo identification, such as a passport or driver’s licence, and your documents left unsigned — the notary must witness your signature. If you need certified true copies, bring the original documents. Free printing and copying is available on site.
What is the difference between a notary public and a commissioner of oaths?
A commissioner for taking affidavits administers oaths and affirmations for sworn statements used in Ontario. A notary public can do that and also certify true copies and notarize documents for use outside Canada. We are both, so you do not need to decide before you arrive.
Can you notarize a document I already signed?
Generally no — the notary has to witness the signature. In most cases you will sign a fresh copy at the appointment, and we print documents free of charge if you bring the file.
